EMERGENCY SELF AID

Learn skills that can save your life if wounded in a defensive situation

This course was developed for concealed carry and like-minded people to render first aid after a dynamic stressful situation, to bridge the gap between post incident and medical personnel.  Students will learn about tourniquets and pressure dressing and have the opportunity to practice their new skills.

We will examine the rules of first aid, look at recent case studies and discuss myths and common misconceptions about tourniquets.

This class is taught in the classroom only, however , there are future plans to add scenarios on the range.

This emergency aid self-treatment course is a 3-4 hour class that has been developed to give our students an edge after a potential or deadly encounter.

Everyone has taken their concealed carry permit class and have shown that they can shoot and handle a firearm, but what are you supposed to do after the shots are fired and the bad guy is down but you find that you have been hurt also???  How do you stop the bleeding??? What can you do to save your own life???

Safe Side Tactical has developed this class to teach you how to self-treat your injuries and stop the bleeding.  These skills don't only apply to gun shots, they also apply to cuts and broken bones.

You will learn how to use pressure dressing and several types of tourniquets to stop bleeding until emergency personnel arrive.  Officers are being issued tourniquets with the intent of self-aid if shot or injured, but they have been repeatedly used on innocent victims like at the Boston bombing.

These skills have been used repeatedly in recent news articles by police officers that treated arterial bleeding before the ambulance arrived, saving the person's life.

We will go over many of the misconceptions about tourniquets and pressure dressing and you will have the chance to practice while in class.  A limited number of supplies will be available for purchase after the class.
