Defensive Pistol

Defensive Handgun Class Overview

This dynamic and fast paced pistol course is designed with beginners in mind. Throughout this four phase program you will learn in a fun and energetic atmosphere how to perform with your combat pistol. This four phase course is designed to walk the participant through the learning process of combat pistol marksmanship; this differs from competitive shooting.  Each Phase is four hours long.

While there is some carryover between the two, competing is a competition; combat shooting is a fight to survive. It is not to win prizes or trophies; the prize is winning the deadly encounter and ensuring that you stopped the threat that was trying to end your life or that of your family.

We developed this course in segments that are designed to build the participant skill level, with each phase building on the previous set of skills. At the end of phase 4 the student will qualify to come to additional trainings hosted by the instructors throughout the year to help build their skills, practice the skills they have learned, and learn more advanced techniques.

Range fee’s are included in the price of the class. Each student is required to provide his or her own firearm and ammunition. Ammunition requirements will differ between phases. The requirements for each phase are listed below.

Semi automatics are recommended but revolvers may be utilized if that is the participant's preferred firearm. (Contact the instructors in advance if you intend to utilize a revolver during class.)

Chest, shoulder, ankle and cross draw holsters are not allowed for any combat pistol phase.
